Moving Out and Trash
It is your responsibility to make sure there is no litter or trash inside your rental or on the property upon your move out. Please begin this process early so that everything will fit into the bins that you need to throw away.
The City of Bloomington Waste Management will not collect trash or recycling that does not fit into your bins. Any bags and large items left outside of the bins may be subject to fines.
Large items such as furniture can sometimes be given away to local charities. Here is a list of some of the local charities you may wish to consider.
You can also reach out to the City of Bloomington Sanitation Services and for a reasonable fee they will remove large items for you that are placed by the road. You need to schedule this service prior to placing the items by the road. This needs to be scheduled before your lease end date. Sanitation Special Request form here.
If you have items that can be recycled that will not fit in your recycling bin such as cardboard, metal, and electronics please bring these items to a Monroe County Recycling and Disposal Center.
